EMI, a leadingfinancial service provider, is taking measurable steps to reduce its carbon footprint with its new initiative, ‘Green from Inside.’ One of the major contributors to EMI’s carbon emissions was the significant amount of petrol consumed by its credit officers who provided door-step services. This led to the production of around 130 tons of CO2 annually. To combat this issue, EMI has decided to replace 100 petrol motorcycles with electric bikes. As of March 30, 2023, 30 electric bikes have already been delivered, and the company plans to replace all petrol motorcycles by the last quarter of the year. By doing so, EMI aims to reduce its carbon emissions and save money in the long run. Moreover, EMI has also allowed its staff to use electric bikes for their daily commute to work. This step not only contributes to a cleaner environment but also promotes sustainable commuting practices. With its ‘Green from Inside’ initiative, EMI is setting an example for other organizations to follow suit and contribute towards a cleaner and greener environment.
